CFI Mastery Class Checklist

Welcome to the pre-study segment of the course. Don’t worry—it will only take an hour and a half, and you’ll be ready.

 

What you need to do before coming or joining the class:

 

  1. Watch the six videos in the course.
  2. Take some time to practice using what you’ve learned.
  3. Run through the what to bring to class checklist at the enf of this document.

 

Videos:

  1. iPad Basics Tutorial - A basic course on how to use your iPad for beginners.
  2. iPad Tips and Tricks - An intermediate course with helpful use tips for iPad.
  3. Files App and iCloud Drive - Where things you download go both on iPad and Online.
  4. iCloud Explained - How iCloud works and how to save things there.
  5. ForeFlight Fundamentals Course - Basic ForeFlight use for beginners.
  6. How to use Zoom as a Presenter - Using Zoom to run a one to one ground or class.



From watching the videos you should be able to do the following:

  1. Turn the iPad on and off.
  2. Turn on/off your webcam.
  3. Understand how to launch apps.
  4. Understand where items you download are located on your iPad/iPhone.
  5. How to use the control panel on the iPad or iPhone.
  6. Connect your iPad to the internet.
  7. Use the volume controls on the side of the device.
  8. Log into your iCloud account with your Apple ID and Password.
  9. Update your Apple device operating system and apps.
  10. Use swipe gestures to move between apps and screens on iPad or iPhone.
  11. Launch Zoom and use the Zoom controls.
  12. Launch Zoom with your personal meeting room.
  13. Locate and have a basic understanding of the Zoom controls including how to mute and unmute your audio.
  14. Launch ForeFlight and be able to do basic flight planning using the FPL button.

 

CHECKLIST - WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS

 

  1. iPad/iPhone - Laptop (optional.)
  2. Your Apple ID and Password - Test this ahead of time.  Go to icloud.com and see if you can log in successfully.
  3. Your Zoom account login and password - Free account is fine.
  4. Apple pencil (optional but recommended.)
  5. Chargers and cables for your devices.
